CELPIP

The Canadian English Language Proficiency Index Program (CELPIP) is an English language proficiency test used for immigration, citizenship, and employment purposes in Canada. The test assesses the four main language skills: listening, reading, writing, and speaking. CELPIP is recognized by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) and is administered by Paragon Testing Enterprises, a subsidiary of the University of British Columbia. Test takers can choose between the CELPIP-General test, which evaluates language proficiency for general purposes, and the CELPIP-General LS test, which evaluates language proficiency for Canadian citizenship. Scores are reported on a scale of 1 to 12, with 12 being the highest possible score. The test is computer-based and uses advanced technology to provide an accurate and efficient assessment of test takers’ language abilities.
